    The Fountain Inn Fire Department responded to a house fire at 112 Lakeview Terrace around 1:35 a.m. on Sunday. According to Assistant Chief Russell Alexander of the Fountain Inn Fire Department, the fire took about 40 minutes to get under control, and an hour to put out. Alexander states the house is a complete loss, but nobody was in the home at the time of the fire. There was no neighboring damage from the house fire and no injuries reported.

Reports state that the incident happened on Pleasant Ridge Ave., where the child was playing in the street near Prince Ave. According to Greenville PD the driver was a white female, who was driving a black Mercedes-Benz SUV. The driver stopped for a moment and then drove off without giving any information or identification.

    The Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested a suspect in the death of a five month old infant which happened Monday. Jeremiah Jackson, 31 of Mill Spring, NC has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Cayden Gabriel Berryman. Emergency responders were called to 23 Freedom Drive in Mill Spring regarding an unresponsive infant, who was transported to St. Luke's emergency room where he eventually died.
