One person has been killed after a wreck in Spartanburg County. One person has been killed after a wreck in Spartanburg County.

One person has been killed after a wreck in Spartanburg County.

The wreck happened on Rainbow Lake Road near the Timberlake sub-division. According to a spokesperson from the Spartanburg County Coroner's Office, the driver of a Saturn SUV, identified as 34-year-old Chad Shannon Tipton, of Inman, drove off the shoulder of the road and the vehicle rolled down an embankment toward the Pacolet River.

Tipton was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the coroner's office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
